"Grassi Palace"
In Arpino, in the historic center of the city of Cicero, in a unique, dominant position that is sunny from dawn to dusk, stands "Palazzo Grassi".
The building, built between the 16th and 17th centuries, is spread over five levels, three above ground and two below street level.
The load-bearing structure in stone masonry and floors, some of which are wooden and some have stone vaults, is in good condition.
The palace was previously used as a residence important to the history of Arpino, also as a public building, as well as the seat of a convent.
"Palazzo Grassi" is served by two large main staircases located at the ends of the structure itself.
The property is located in the historic center of Arpino, adjacent to the church of Santa Maria della Civita. It is accessible from several directions, including the square of the same name and Via Abate Marsella, with an independent entrance from the private courtyard. Alternatively, it can be accessed from the adjacent land, which was specifically acquired to accommodate any type of solution or intended use of the building.
The internal layout consists of large living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, washrooms, laundry, various rooms, offices, and there are also other rooms previously used as laboratories on the floors below.
From the large, panoramic terraces overlooking the town's countryside and the acquired portion of land/olive grove, you can enjoy the beauty of the Ciociaro/Arpinate landscape.
In the inner part of the courtyard we find a period chapel, a cave and a large terraced garden, where another chapel is located.
Going down to the two-story basement level, we find vaulted cellars, period wash houses made of hand-worked stone, granaries, other workshops and other very characteristic stone rooms.
"Palazzo Grassi" covers a total area of approximately 3,000 m2 between the residential area and other services, while the garden (land) surrounding the building is approximately 12,000 m2, with orange groves and olive trees.
This historic building, previously known as "DOMUS-ARTE", due to its location, characteristics and its monumental size, is ideally suited as a tourist accommodation facility (hotel, etc.), for a family home, for receptions and educational, didactic, and museum services of the history and culture of Ciociara/Arpinate.
